Wm. Brad Heckenkemper
Tulsa, Oklahoma
A native Tulsan, Mr. Heckenkemper graduated from Oklahoma State University and the
University of Oklahoma School of Law. Since his graduation in 1979, he has worked
at the law firm of Barrow & Grimm, P.C., where he is a shareholder. His practice
is concentrated in general business matters and commercial litigation.
As a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA) he is a trial judge on the Oklahoma
Court on the Judiciary, hearing matters involving unethical conduct and abuse of
power complaints against the State's judges. He is also a past Commissioner
on the Professional Responsibility Commission investigating complaints of unethical
conduct by members of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Additionally, Brad
served as the Chairman and was a member of the OBA's Legal Ethics and Unauthorized
Practice of Law Committee for several years, authoring several opinions.
As a member of Tulsa County Bar Association (TCBA) he has served as a member of
the Board of Directors on numerous terms and has been a delegate to the OBA several
times. He is an Adjunct Settlement Judge for both the United States District Courts
for the Northern District of Oklahoma and for Tulsa County District Courts. He was
a member of the TCBA Professional Responsibility Committee for over ten years and
served as the committee's Chairman. He has also served on other numerous committees'
in leadership roles.
A member of Leadership Tulsa Class XXIX he is very involved in community projects,
including the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tulsa, Inc., where is serves as
the Vice-President of Resource Development and Publicity and is a member of
the Board of Directors. He is active in and has served on many other community
service projects, schools organizations, church, Boy Scouts and various youth athletic
programs.
Mr. Heckenkemper's practice emphasizes a wide variety of business and personal legal
areas, including commercial transactions (corporation and limited liability company
formations, contracts and business acquisitions). He is also actively engaged in
mediation, complex business litigation, bankruptcy, creditor's rights, estate planning
(wills and trusts), real estate and probate cases.
He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 1979 and his
undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in 1977.
In 1986 he was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is
also licensed to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth
Circuit, all three United States District Courts in Oklahoma, as well as all Oklahoma
district and appellate courts.
He is the recipient of the distinguished TCBA President's Award, he has also served
as Chairman for several important committees, including the OBA's Legal Ethics and
Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the TCBA's Professional Responsibility
Committee.
